Poverty Post

The water is all the way down stairs huh? Have you ever thought about walking miles and miles for an unsanitized glass of water? All around you there are people worrying about some pretty major things and these people are in poverty.

The interviews of the people in poverty really made me think about what I struggle in verses their struggles. Some times I struggle in school, but people in poverty struggle to send their kids to school (if there is one in their vicinity). They eat and drink in unsanitary places and they eat unsanitary things. It doesn't help that your job pays 50 cents an hour when you working really hard and in America they get roughly $7 for doing an easy job and they are complaining for more.

When our groups made flashcards for what kind of struggle people are going though I noticed that there are multiple kinds of poverty. In my opinion regular poverty is having some sort roof over our head, but you work at a minimum wage job and you struggle to support your-self and your family.

Poverty is a very serious matter that is all around the world even in the most civilized countries.

It is very difficult to escape poverty, because of the lack of money. You need to worry about how much you have to eat or drink and people barely have enough money do do that.

I think the poverty cycle could be broken by donations (assuming the government gives it to them.)

  2. The topics you choses were quite interesting, but I felt that you could've expanded on them a bit more since they were good topics. I like how throughout the piece you kept referring back to how you compare to them, which was something big most people took out from this unit. Overall, I think you did good.
