- Slavery in America
- 1619 African slaves arrived in Virginia
- Declaration of Independence declared all men are created equal (Slavery still went on)
- Three Fifths Compromise was implemented between the North and South (1787)
- Slavery ended December 6, 1865 when the 13th amendment was ratified

- Women's right to vote
- Susan B. Anthony and 15 other women were arrested for attempting to vote (New York, 1772)
- 19th amendment August 18, 1920

- These topics will continue to be debated and different amendments will be added to the constitution in the future
- America has interpreted the constitution in different ways based in the current events and factors, the point of the amendment is to change a law or a rule for the better.
