Band: 2016 Music Festival Concert Reflection

What are my responsibilities leading up to the performance, in terms of my own practicing? My responsibilities are to practice and fully understand my piece before the concert. (Practice for at least 15 minutes a day)
What are my responsibilities on stage during a performance? One of my responsibilities on stage is to have my music in order so there is no shuffling during the concert. There is also no talking on stage because not only does that look unprofessional, but the crowd would most likely hear your conversation because of the microphones.

What will I do differently in preparing for the next concert? I feel like I did a pretty good job preparing for this concert, but one thing I could have done better was getting off stage. I need to pay more attention to my surroundings so I know what's going on.

What do I need to be doing while someone is performing? I need to be respectful by keeping quiet and listening to the piece.

What should I do if people around me are not being good audience members? I should tell them to stop messing around, because it is disrespectful to the others who want to listen to the music and the people on stage.

What will I do differently as an audience member for next concert? In the next concert I will bring more energy to the crowd by clapping more passionately.

Dr. Cross taught me that when we are all thinking, breathing and counting alike the music sounds significantly better.

I am most proud of our overall playing in the concert, it is not easy to play in front of a crowd but i think we executed very well.

Band Reflection

What are you most proud of from your performance at the concert?
I am most proud of my posture, I had some trouble in the beginning of the year.
What do you need to work on to improve for the next performance?
My articulation could improve, my notes at times sounded sloppy. What does our band, as a whole, need to work on to improve for the next concert?
We need to work on staying at the same tempo. What did you learn from performing in the concert?
I learned how to collaborate better. What did you learn by watching others perform?
Watching the older kids inspires me to keep doing music so one day I can sounds as good as them.

Band: Festival Concert Reflection 2015

I am most proud of watching my classmates go out there and perform with self-confidence. Hearing them at the practices I heard them messing around talking not really paying attention and some parts were pretty choppy, but after the practiced they got it all together and sounded great.

Of all the things I learned from Dr. Robblee thoughtout festival week, The one thing that I will remember to use in my daily playing is the breath before playing to make us all stay together.

May 2015 Band Concert Reflection

Concert Reflection for May 12, 2015

1. Did you feel well prepared for this performance, why or why not? (ie: Did you do what was expected of you leading up to the concert?)

2. What was the strongest part of our performance, and why?

3.  What was the weakest part of our performance, and why? What can we (and you) do to improve for next time?

4. On a scale from 1 to 5, (5 being the best) how would you rate the overall band students’ behavior as audience members for this concert?  Why? (no names please)

5. What was your favorite piece and why?

1. I felt very comfortable with all of the pieces, because i knew all of the notes and I was ready, because I knew the steps of the concert more that I did last time.

2. The strongest part was African Folk Trilogy, because we were the most familiar with that, because we played it last concert.

3. Our songs were good, but the weakest part was getting our instruments ready was a little bit of a problem.

4. As audience members I would rate us at 4/5, because I could still here talking, but at least people were not playing on their phones this time.

5. My favorite piece was African Folk, because since we repeated it we were very familiar with it and I personily

Band Reflection

I need to be ready and have all of my music ready to perform.

On stage I should not talk and have a conversation with my friend and also I need to pay attention to when my part is coming or something like that.

Well, I was pretty nervous so maybe next time I should practice my piece more, but still I think I had a good idea on what all the notes were.

While someone else is performing I should keep quiet and just enjoy the music.

I need to clap and the still keep quiet to not disturb everyone else.

I should let the know to stop talking or stop play games and if they try to talk to me I just should ignore them.

I talked a little between the transitions so next time I will just keep quiet.

I am really proud of my performance, because it sounded real nice ane in-sink with everybody else.

Band Refection

The Concert was really fun, it was the first time being exposed musically to the public and it inspired me to keep on going.

My favorite part about it was African Folk Trilogy all of the instrument coming together sounded really nice. I also liked the other songs like the ones that the higher grades did.
